Q: Should I take up Honda Certification for a 2005 Accord in good condition?
I am considering buying a used 2005 Honda Accord from a reputable Honda dealer. A number of my friends have bought their cars from that dealer and have good comments.
The car is 2 years and 3 months old, and based on the CARFAX report, it does not have any problem. The mileage of the car is about 20k, and it previously has only one owner.
The car is currently not certified and the dealer has told me that if I want it to be certified, it would cost roughly another $800.
Base on my limited understanding of Honda Certification, it basically buys me one more year of warranty, and a better peace of mind to start with.
Do you think the certification will be worth it?
I am inexperience with cars and this is the first time I am buying a car. Our main purpose of getting the car is to do our shopping errands and for occasional short trips. If this Accord is in good condition but still need repairs within the first year, do you think the repairs can easily cost more than $800?
A: if you think it willl it give you peace of mind then do it but in my opion hondas out last the warrenty anyway so it is a wast of money to take the certificate.

A: Sending it to the Honda dealer helped me out wonders!

Q: Should I purchase a SALVAGED 2005 Honda Accord EX Vehicle?
2005 Honda Accord. its normally around 17,000 for a nice one.
I have found a salvaged one for 11,500. The owner is able to provide receipts of all documentation of what got repaired. I have requested the owner to take to a Honda Dealership for diagnostic check and the owner is also okay with it too. The owner also provides the VIN number for it. I also requested to take it to a high way patrol for inspection.
Everything I have asked for the owner has agreed to. Cosmetically, the car is in PERFECT condition but has been slammed in the rear end and got hit in the driver's door. everything has been repaired to perfect condition.
What do you guys think? should i buy it?
A: The problem w/any salvage vehicle is that it has lost it's structural integrity. This may show up in handling problems, corrosion, body sag etc. It will definitely show up if you should be in a wreck. There is a reason it is salvage title [which most states will not allow to be registered] it does not belong on the road.

Q: I have a 2005 Honda Accord.. How do i reset the maintenance required light?
Up until now i have had my vehicle serviced and the dealer resets the dash light. Thet want $169 to check fluids, inspect brakes, change oil, and rotate tires. I all ready know I need new tires and brake pads, I just got the oil changed, I just want to know how to make the light go away. 2005 honda accord 4 door 2.4 L 5 speed.
A: Turn the key off, hold down the trip odometer button and turn the key to the on position. Hold the trip odometer button down until the maintenance required light starts to flash or comes on then turns off
Q: What type of gas should I use on a 2005 Honda Accord?
I just got a 2005 honda accord but I do not know which octain to use. Thanks
A: 87 octane is Honda recommended gasoline for that vehicle. The information is located on the last page of your owners manual.
Q: what size rims and tires will look good on my 2005 honda accord?
i bought a 2005 accord 5 months ago and i'm currently looking for some rims. Any suggestions ...i dont want to spend much neither. I live in fresno, ca. any suggestions
A: go 18 in. rims with low profile tires anything bigger than 18 will damage your fender and will scrape on the inside of your wheel wells.
here are some color suggestions
black go black with a chrome lip, or gold rims
blue or white go with gold rims
grey, green, red or silver go with gunmetal or dark finish rims.
Q: Clutch replacement on a 2005 Honda Accord Coupe?
For reasons unknown to me, the clutch & clutch release bearing in my '05 Accord Coupe needs replaced. Dealer wants $1360 for parts and labor. I've already had it towed there, so I'm probably gonna go ahead and let them do the work. The part that sucks is that my warranty just expired (36,000 mi. warranty...mileage is currently at 39,010) I bought the car (certified pre-owned from the same dealer) only 9 months ago...it had 29k miles at the time.
What would cause the clutch to go bad in a low mileage 2005 Honda? Any other thoughts on the matter?
I consider myself proficient with a stick shift...so any extensive wear to the clutch was probably caused by the original owner.
I did not buy an extended warranty...thinking my certified pre-owned would last several years without any major repairs. Perhaps that was naive thinking on my part.
A: its probably the way it was treated by the previous owner before you got it,it may have had a hard life,if your good at driving a standard shift car,the new clutch should last you well over 200 k if not more, the previous owner may not have been good at driving a manual shift, and his takes a lot of wear and tear off the clutch assembly,id say you,ll have better luck from it,i have to say though ,that's really high for replacing a clutch and pressure plate, their labor rate must be really high, good luck with it.
Q: asking price for 2005 Honda Accord EX coupe?
I own a 2005 Honda Accord EX coupe V6 with the 6 speed manual transmission. It have every option possible and is in absolutely pristine condition. It has recently had a MAJOR tune up, replacing brakes, fluids, hoses, filters, etc etc. The only problem is that it has 103,000 mainly highway miles. The car was never beat on and still drives like it would when you drive it off the lot with 5 miles on it... So my question is, should I still ask for the full blue book value? I dont want to scare people away because of the seemingly high price for a car with over 100k. But like i said it looks and drives like it did when brand new, and although it has a lot of miles, it is still only 2.5 years old... Also, is there any shame in asking a little more than the blue book value since its in such good condition? And what would be some good reasons for it if a potential buyers asks why?
A: Well the high mileage would certainly scare people away. However, if you go to www.nada.com it has a feature that lets you type in your mileage and gives you an accurate price.

Q: Speed to drive 2005 Honda Accord for best fuel efficiency?
Generally it is 55mph, but I'm sure it is more car specific. Anyone know what it is for the 2005 Honda Accord?
A: Stay between 2,000 to 2,600k RPM
Q: is there anything wrong with a 2004 or 2005 honda accord sedan?
I want the 2006 or 2007 model because of the light strip on the top of the trunk of the car, but this will be my first car. Are there any problems with the 2004 or 2005 models? Is auto insurance cheaper with older model cars? Do the consoles on the 2004 or 2005 accord sedan have the cassette player option? Do you think they are stylish? Thanks in advance.
A: they are not stylish they look like the new hyundai sedan as compared to the old accord that looks better, auto insurance depends on your driving history, get the '07 toyota camry looks better
Q: how much do my 2005 honda accord ex sedan rims weight?
Im trying to buy aftermarket 18" rims but dont want to get a super heavy rim. The ones i like are about 22lbs each but I want to compare that 22lbs to the stock weight. Also the rims width are 8.5, Do you think a 8.5" wide rims are to wide for an accord?
A: Yes, 8.5" rims are too wide. I have an '03 Accord EX-L with 18 x 8 aftermarket rims, and they stick out 1/2" in the front, and less than a 1/4" in the back (that's because there is a slight negative camber on my back rims, similar to some BMW's, like the X5). The weight of the 18 x 8.5 rims you like are pretty light (mine are heavier and weigh 26.6 lbs. each + 225/40/18 tires, that weigh 23lbs. each = 49.6 lbs. a wheel). The stocks weigh 18.2 lbs. each + 21 lbs. for each tire = 39.2 lbs. per each stock wheel. It's rare that a larger aftermarket rims weigh can closely compare to the stock. You might find a longer stopping distance, and a slower pick up, it all depends on the extra weight. Usually rims come in a variety of widths, if they come in 8" (or better yet, 7.5") I'd get them. I hope this info helps you, if you need more info, you can email me. Good luck!
Q: What are the 0-60mph and 1/4 mile times for a 2005 Honda Accord EX coupe with 6speed manual transmission?
I just recently traded in my 2000 Subaru Impreza RS for a 2005 Honda Accord EX coupe 6m/t. I know the car has 240hp and 212lb/ft torque, but i am struggling to find the 0-60 times or the 1/4 mile times. I have read that the automatic sedan does 0-60 in 6.6 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 15.1, but what about the 6 speed manual?
A: 0-60mph = 5.9 /// 1/4 mile =14.5
Those are the times, and manual vs automatic in drag is liek day and night, unless tuned ecu or racing trannys. Hope this helps.
Q: 2005 Honda Accord Coupe Drivers Side Window Busted, Door Will Not Open?
My 2005 Honda Accord Coupe Drivers Side Window was Busted, now the Door Will Not Open. The dealershi is trying to charge me over $1000. Is there anything I can do myself to try and fix it on my own? Thanks for the help.
A: Probably just a piece of glass caught in the mechanism.
If you feel confident removing the door panel, you should be able to fix it. The other thing you can do is see if the guys that replace window glass can fix it for you or you could take it to a stereo shop and pay someonea few bucks ($100) to do it. Both those guys are inside doors all the time, they should have no problem fixing it.
