Q: I need to replace a small light bulb inside the heater control dial for a 2005 Honda CRV?
How can I replace it by myself? Are there any online manuals about replacing interior dash bulbs in Honda CRV's?

A: If its a 2005, its covered under warranty - take it to the dealer and they will fix it for free.

Q: i have a question about my 2005 honda crv?
hi, the airbag symbol on my 2005 honda crv keeps lighting up whenever i turn on the car. do you know anything that might cause this? I have never gotten into an accident before, if that helps.

A: The light comes on because the cars computer system is performing a self test on the systems, it isn't anything to worry about, it's normal. Unless the light stays on, if so, it could indicate there is a problem with the airbag system itself and you should take it to a reputable dealer (preferably Honda) to have the system properly diagnosed.

Q: How often should I change the oil on my 2005 honda crv?
It has 47,000 all highway miles.

A: Read your owners manual. It's probably every 3,000 miles

Q: can anyone give me directions to replace rear differential fluid (double pump) on a 2005 Honda CRV?
The back end is rumbling and from what I read ...it is worn differential fluid. Unfortunately I have never changed it before and would like directions.

A: There might be a drain plug near the bottom either on the front side or back side of the differential. It may be a inverted bolt requiring a large Allen wrench or an exterior bolt requiring a wrench. It will take a while to drain especially if the lube/grease is cold. This should be a rather thick grease and will take both a while to drain it may be quite a bit of fluid. You should check with a maintenance manual for the exact location you can usually find one of those at your local Auto parts store like Napa or Auto zone. http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.ef026c3/3818

Q: Will a patio set that is approx. 5ft X 3ft fit in a 2005 Honda CRV?
Possible if you fold down the back seats/ It's a table that is put together with legs.

A: I believe so I know it would fit in the 2007 i have and their about the same size so try it.

Q: How do I carry 4 Bicycles on my Honda CRV (2005)?
I have a roof rack fitted but no towbar, I am looking to do this without a re-mortgage!

A: Take the wheels off two of them and put those inside. Out the other two on the rook rack or on a bike rack that attaches to the spare tire in back (Allen Bike Racks work great and are cheap).

Q: What are the best year round tires (I live in NJ) for a 2005 Honda CRV(4x4)?

A: I think that Toyo tires are always a great choice, they can be a little pricey but they are always great. Look at http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/home.do they have very good prices, or look at http://www.tirerack.com/ ... but these tires would be shipped to you and you have to mount them yourself.

Q: Body Kit for a 2005 Honda CRV?
I just got a '05 Honda CRV from a cousin and its a decent looking car, however I was wondering if there was a body kit for it. I did some searches on the internet and came up with Techno R body kits, but its only for 2001s and below. Anyone got any ideas if there is one for the newer models? Or maybe something I can do to make it less like a soccer moms car? ^_^ .

A: Leave the body kit off if it. SUV's werent meant to have body kits, ever. Not to mention they are next to impossible to find for most models. If you want to make it a little more pimp, get some new wheels and lower the car. Throw on a HID headlight kit and I really cant think of anything that would make it better looking. Keep it clean and simple.

Q: Is the 2005 honda crv capable of using e85?

A: if it is the gas cap will be yellow

Q: average miles the brakes on a 2005 honda crv last?
the vehicle has 27000 miles on it

A: matters how hard you been hittin those brakes, have you been accelerating towards red lights and slamming the brakes? 27,000 is not that much, you must have been abusing the brakes or its just bad brakes from day 1... they should last prob 40,000

Q: Honda crv 2005 realtime 4wd?
My check engine indicator lights up specially after starting and running a little. When this happens, my idling is so bad so i have to turn the engine off. After re starting the engine, the light comes off and everything seems normal again but sometimes, this problem comes back on rare occasions. What could be causing this? I have brought this to Honda repair shops already and they don't seem to know what is causing this. Please help.

A: ok well everyone will say o2 sensor that would be my first thing to check aswell the one on the headers and the one on the cat. if its idleing badly it could also be the IAC(idle air control valve) if it runs good after you turn it off and rarely happens again then most likely its the IAC it controls your idle by checking how hot the engine is getting by running the water through it. as it gets hotter it closes more allowing a better mix of air and gas so that the car doesnt stall if it does it at first it is staying open causeing your car to bog down as it isnt getting enough gas into the throttle body. when you turn off the car and turn it back on it fixes itself because you reset it to what the current temp is. so most likely its that if you can get me more info like symptoms i can help you out alittle better.

Q: Best tires for Honda CRV 2005 (215 / 65 R16)?
Factory supplied tires are worn out at 34,000 miles. The CRV is used for about 50% highway driving, usually carrying about 200 lbs of stuff in the trunk.

A: 215/65R16 98T is a hugely popular size - it has been the standard size on Chrysler Minivans for years. It also has more than enough load capacity for anything you are going to do with your vehicle. There are a number of good tire options out there which should give you better wear and performance than the original tires. If the vehicle is only used on paved roads I can recommend the following: Goodyear Assurance Tripletread - 80k mileage warranty and good traction in all weathers but expensive. Only downside is the directional tread design which means the tires can not be cross-rotated to help prevent uneven wear patterns. Bridgestone Insignia SE200 - 65k mileage warranty and one of the best wet traction tires out there. Quiet and nice riding as well, about mid-priced. Kuhmo Solus KR21 - 85k mileage warranty and a good performer for a very economical price. Not the ultimate tire but a lot of tire for the money. If you live where it snows a lot you might also consider the Nokian WR. This is basically a REAL all-season tire that unlike any other "all-season" tire is rated for use in severe winter conditions. Expensive and somewhat hard to find but go through snow like a raped ape and still drivable in 90 degree summer heat unlike a dedicated winter tire like say a Bridgestone Blizzak.

Q: Whad advice you can give me about trading my 2005 Honda Civic for 2007 CRV?
I paid off with cash and zero outstanding finance. I don't want to involve with lemon law. I was thinking about trading it for new crv but I rather save couple more thousands.

A: Honestly, i wouldnt trade it in. I own an 04 Civic myself and it is one great car, especially with the huge jump in gas prices. If you get a CRV youll be getting almost half the mpg you were with the civic. But if you really want to, and you have a few months to wait, id try selling the car myself. Youll definitely get raped by the dealer when you go to trade it in.Usually selling youself you can get at least 2,000 more than what the dealer will. Try reading how to buy a car for dummies. pretty good info in selling or tading yours and buying a new one. GOOD LUCK!

Q: Honda 2002 CRV w/ 63,000 miles or 2005 CRV with 94000 miles? Which is the better deal?
They are both around $15,000.

A: Sweety. Go to WWW.KBB.COM and you can input all the car's info. and see if the price is right. It's free.

Q: New Honda CRV needs new motor/wont cover undr warranty bc overheated/burned up- check engine lght on- ideas?
Wife's 2005 Honda CRV needs a new motor due to overheating which Honda of McKinney in Texas will not cover due to owner negligence- only indication was that check engine light was on, no temperature guage indications- check engine light went on and then went off- second time it came on- car overheated and ruined motor- they can't prove the radiator was leaking- I have a receipt from Speedy Oil showing fluids were checked less than 3k miles ago and fine- Honda will not cover due to ownner negligence- will cost 10k for new engine- ANY IDEAS??? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

A: It is common for dealers to try to BS you and get out of doing repairs. DON'T give up! get a lawer if you have to. File a complaint with the better buisness bureau, and bureau of automotive repair. They will investigate. Try to contact Honda's regional rep. If all else fails, make a sign and picket in front of the dealership. Don't give up without a fight.
