Q: How much would you pay for a 1990 Honda CRX?
Someone offered me 4000... Someone offered me 200... How much would you offer? I am going to take the 4g But I was just wondering how good is this deal. It has 83,000 miles on it. I'm trying to sell it. It gets around 40 mpg. It's amazing. But going to break down soon. So I need to get rid of it.

A: Depends on what kind of condition its in. Most people looking for CRX's aren't concerned with mileage or engine condition. They are looking for a clean, straight, undamaged body. People that look for CRX's will usually change the engine, transmission, suspension, and interior. 4k is a lot for a stock CRX unless its in perfect condition. If you where offered that much its got to look great. Take the money if you cant afford to maintain it any longer. You can use the money on a down payment for a newer car that will need little to no work.Good luck.

Q: how would i go about putting a 12 inch sub in a 1990 honda crx hf?
i already have everything wired, i just dont know where i can put the sub in the box its in now. does anyone else who has or had a crx with a sub got any suggestions? should i just go to a car stereo shop and get a different box or what? what is the boot

A: most place them in the boot as the sound will travle thru to the car and the sub is out of sight from prying eyes. i made custom boxes for mine as i have limited space and no boot (only 9inch of storage space)

Q: I have a 1990 honda crx si thats been sitting for a long time, and it starts sometimes, help?
ITS BEEN SITTING FOR ABOUT A YEAR, I BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND IT STARTED FINE, BUT NOW ITS BEEN SITTING FOR A WEEK AND IT MAKES A GRINDING AND A LOUD CLICKING NOISE, AND IT WONT START. COULD IT BE THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS ARE CLOGGED FROM DIRTY GAS CAUSE IT WAS SITTING SO LONG. I SAY THAT BECAUSE IF I TRY AND START IT FOR AWHILE IT BACK FIRES FORM THE INTAKE MANIFOLD, AND THEIRS A SMALL FLAME. WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE ?

A: maybe its your alarm system. sometimes when a cars battery gets weak and you try starting it, the alarm system activates to prevent a would be thief from stealing your car. or it could be the alternator or distributor

Q: Can i put a b20 engine and possibly turbo in the future on my 1990 honda crx?
will it beat a 1992 civic hatchback with a b20 engine?

A: Well, let's see. The Civic hatchback floors it, and quickly reaches the legal limit of 65mph. Or 60, depending on where you are. Your CRX does the same, and also hits the speed limit. At this point, no one is winning, because you're both going the same speed. Maybe one was slightly faster in accelerating, but now that you've hit the limit, there's no winner at all. Unless you intend on going faster than the speed limit. Which is illegal. As is modifying your vehicle with the intent of going faster than legal limits. Which would make this question, asking for advice for illegal activity, which is against YA policy. And surely you're not doing that. :)

Q: does a 1990 honda crx hf have the little cargo thing in the back?
or is there just nothing there?

A: ya there supposed to have a cargo cover in the back. check on ebay or craigslist. it makes it look way better and you can cover ur belongings

Q: I have a 1990 Honda CRX -DX with a manual transmission. Now the shifter is very hard to move in any direction?
After the clutch was replaced, the car shifted fine, until it stuck in gear, turns out the adjuster was left loose. No problem to tighten it up. Now, in any direction, left, right, up, down, it is very stiff to shift until it is warmed up. Any ideas?

A: call the people that have been servicing your car ... they know it best.... it may be a breaking in period for all that you have done already or an adjustment indicator from what was just done. hope this answer helps :)

Q: i have a 1990 honda crx 1.5 wont start no spark put new distributor and computer checked all fuses any help?

Q: i have a 1990 honda crx with a ZC DOHC. What do you recomend i do? Keep it and do a b20 swap or buy a 05 rsx-s?
i like both and want to make it fast and fix it. and hopefully be able to beat a 1992 civic hatchback si with a b20 engine. he might put turbo in it though.

A: B18. less cash more options and plus It would fit almost perfect in a CRX motor bay. More room and money for that monster Greddy turbo you've been dreaming of.

Q: 1990 Honda CRX in Trouble?
I have a 1990 Honda CRX that keeps making some scratchy, rusty noice from the steering wheel while I'm driving. Somehow, the screeching noise seems to to come from little box that holds my steering wheel. This noise seems to pick up as the revolution of the the car picks up. It sounds like scratching a piece of rusty metal together, almost making a chirp sound. What I also notice is that when the noise starts to get louder, my speedometer indicator begins to jerk up and down, almost to the point where I feel it will break. Any one have any idea on the cause or solution to this?

A: hi there. That is a very common problem to older Honda vehicles. It is also a simple problem. The speedometer cable needs to be greased. After years of turning in it's housing; the cable has dried out. It will make more noise and eventually break. i charge a customer $20 to $40 to grease their cable. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Q: Can I install a 6 speed transmission in a 1990 Honda CRX?

A: Well, youre probably asking yourself if you can in a way add another gear. These are hondas made for economy, no performance. 5 gears is more than enough for a stock or even modified civic. There were no 6 speed transmissions made for the D series motors.( You have a D series engine unless it was changed) So the short answer is NO. You cannot install a 6speed tranny. HOWEVER: If you really must have a 6 speed then its possible. You can swap in a K series motor(K20 or a K24) and pair it up with a 6 speed tranny. Note though that not all K series have 6 speed. The K20A2 has a 6speed. If you decide to do the swap with no experience, expect to pay a reputable shop 10-11k to swap one in or do it yourself for 8-9k. There is a lot of modification to do a K swap however its been done many times and so with that said there are many aftermarket companies with mounts, wiring harnesses, axles and everything to do it. You will also have the baddest stock 4 cyl motor made by honda in a production vehicle with 200hp/150ft lbs of torque on the nicer K20s. Read up but i say stick with the 5 speed, you cannot add a gear to your tranny.

Q: I have a 1990 Honda Crx si I wanted to know if being si meant having vtec my cars engine type is 1.6L L4 FI?

A: no it does not mean you have vtec...the crx si where never given vtec...the only ones to have it where the siR in other countries...it just means that you have the best trim of those models...and your car has either a 1.6 sohc zc or a 1.6 sohc d16a...vtec didnt really hit the single cams until 92...

Q: Wheres the chapest place to buy a turbo system for a 1990 Honda CRX Si?
1.6 liter

A: 1. Be careful when buying ANYTHING on eBay, especially something as important as performance mods on a car. Remember, one small thing goes wrong with a turbo, boom goes your engine. 2. You might (probably) need to build up your engine to handle the boost, so also be careful with that. 3. Turbos aren't cheap, and when buying a turbo, i'd recommend quality over price. Do some research on Google or automotive websites/forums before buying your turbo or any other mods. 4. Do a little research on your car, and then continue with everything else. 5. Assuming you know nothing (or know little) on turbos, learn how one works, see a few examples, and learn to notify a bad one when you see one. 6. Please don't rice out your car. I know this has nothing to do with a turbo, but PLEASE keep your CRX nice and clean. =)

Q: 1990 Honda CRX HOW to remove the FUel pump?
does anyone know how to remove the fuel pump and where is it located at

A: Under the carpet in the back is a bracket unscrew that and unplug any wires. Raise the car up and disconnect the fuel lines. Unbolt the straps that hold the tank up. Fuel pump is located in the front of the tank. remove old one and replace. Assembly is the opposite.

Q: can a h22a vtech and gearbox fit into a 1990 honda crx?

A: VTEC! Variable Valve Timing and Electronic Lift Control! The h22a will work with the hasport mounts. You can use an F series transmission if you do not like the h22 short gearbox. It will require some fabrication and will not directly bolt up and start up. Remember the h22 came in the Prelude. Which is a much heavier car, so, putting this engine in your car will make it handle poorly. Sure you can spend a bunch more money upgrading the suspension to run this properly. But stick with D or B.. or hey, even a K if you want. Stay away from the H.
