Q: What 02 sensor performs best for 1991 Honda CRX DX model?
Any additional thoughts on the TPS or throttle position sensor? Im asking as I've seen a drop in mpg from upper 30's to 27mpg. Plugs and wires, air filter, and distributor cap have all been changed. I could remove the two injectors and clean them too. Thanks, Scott Thanks L H and David. I will try your suggestions and report back after our next tank up and mpg test. Scott

A: I don't think it's your TPS.. Ideally, you could do a complete strip of your engine and clean all parts and replace your piston seals. or on the cheap, get to your mechanic and do a leak down test on your pistons. You could have a piston seal leak. Have your ECU reflashed , check your tire pressure (low pressure increases fuel consumption), did you leave a kitchen sink in your boot?, You can clean your throttle body by removing your air intake, pull open the throttle valve via the cable (spray loads of carburettor cleaner into it.. wear mask cos of toulene), replace intake pipe, start engine with slight gas depression and rev to red line about 7-10 times.. You should get some mileage back...

Q: Does a 1991 honda crx have a driver airbag?
i need a car with an airbag and i like 1991 crx's does it have an airbag thanks

A: No the CRX does not. None of the Honda's in there 3rd and 4th generations of production have airbags. There have been quite a bit of recent studies done by Honda stating that airbags do more damage to the driver then they do for safety of the driver but due to Federal Regulations all cars since 1994 have to have an air bag and have to be ODB1 (On Board Diagnostics series 1)

Q: Honda 1991 CRX ... won't start...HELP?
My boyfriend owns a 1991 Honda CRX. He started it the other day and it ran for about a minute and then shut off and now he cant get it to start again. He thinks it's the O2 sensor. Any other ideas?

A: O2 sensor? Nope. "Won't start" is pretty vague. It could be hundreds of posibilities. Dead battery, Low battery, bad ground wire to engine, bad power wire to starter, bad power wire to battery, bad connection at battery post or terminals, blown fuse, bad key switch, bad starter, bad fuel pump, bad injectors, out of gas, neutral safety switch, seized engine, broken connecting rod, no compression, no spark, bad oil pressure switch, broken timing belt, plugged fuel filter, bad starter solenoid, bad starter, broken rotor, cracked distributor cap, Anti-theft device, water in/on engine, out of gas, vacuum leak, bad gas, bad ignition coil, blown computer, faulty cam or crank sensor ...

Q: Electrical problems on a 1991 honda crx dx?
What would be the cause of the door open warning lights and the seat belt warning lights in the dash and on the headliner to light up when the brake is depressed on a 1991 Honda CRX DX?

A: Check and reseat all of your fuses and self-resetting circuit breakers, if one goes bad sometimes feedback of electricity can cause strange things to happen. Otherwise a loose or disconnected ground, that can be pretty much anywhere, would be the next thing to look for. Maybe check all of your brake light lightbulbs to make sure they are working and installed properly. As a last item that could be the culprit would be the car's computer, as it usually monitors all of those signals and could be confused somehow. Maybe disconnecting the battery for a few minutes would be enough to reset it. Otherwise a mechanic would have to do some troubleshooting of your electrical system to find the problem. Good luck.

Q: I own a 1991 Honda CRX. How many other CRX owners are constantly having people ask if your vehicle is for sale?

A: You should be happy they ask-you have a VERY desirable car, they last forever if taken care of- 200,000 miles not uncommon, get GREAT gas mileage and are fun to drive. I have a 93 Del Sol and get asked all time if I want to sell it cuz it's in great shape, (60,000 miles and the bright green color). Honda made a HUGE mistake in getting rid of the CRX and Del Sol's-if people didn't love them they would have no resale value (ex. Ford Escort). Be happy that people want it and try to keep it in good shape for future resale.

Q: 1996 camaro VS 1991 honda crx si?
soo me and my boyfriend were argueing, first off im a DIEHARD camaro fan and he just inherited a 1991 honda crx si and Im about to buy a 1996 camaro SS. so he was saying that honda could beat a camaro's ass in a driving competition. he says it would kick a camaros ass through a windy road and stuff. and i was like ARE YOU KIDDING!? i cant even comprehend that a honda could ever beat a camaro like that. i know how fast camaros can be, and a honda beating a camaro no way!? could that happend if both the cars were all stock?? can i get a detailed answer on why? oh ya and if the camaro is automatic and the honda is stick?? does that make a difference

A: Thats funny. This is like comparing a corvette to a cavalier. The only way he could ever beat you is if he was one of these dummys that dump thousands of dollers in his car and even then he would have to be one hell of a skilled driver to beat you.You have a REAL CAR so dont worry about him and his girly puddle jumper just blow his doors off the first chance you get.

Q: What's the most would it cost me to fix the AC on my 1991 Honda CRX ?
The compressor is bad

A: Call a junkyard, you will save a lot of $$$ this way. I had an estimate to replace my A/C condensor alone, and that was about $700. or something ridiculous like that. I went and bought the part alone at the junkyard for about $40. and did it myself, then paid a shop to charge my system for under $100. It has been working great for over a year now... I know the compressor is probably more $$$, but junkyards are wher I get ALL of my parts, and I have never had a problem.

Q: What is the best in dash cd player for a 1991 honda crx with a budget of $120?

A: well you won't get very high quality out of a cd player for that much like a life of maybe six months at most but if you want a good one for that low budget try the one below but if you can spare a little more get the next up on if possible, the more you pay the beter you get quality wise. but i prefer pioneer over most just b/c they seem to have the least amount of probs with the most amount of goodies that no one else has yet
