Q: What makes, models and years is a 1991 Honda Civic interchangeable with?
I have a 1991 Honda Civic with a 1989 engine in it. I need to find a new body for it but am not sure which makes and models are interchangeable with the parts on my 91 civic.
A: Depends on what parts you're talking about. The '88-'91 Civics have the same body style, so pretty much everything is going to switch over (there are some minor changes from '88-'89 & '90-'91). Other than that, it's likely that you'll need to do some kind of modifications to put any parts on any other cars (like an engine, transmission, & ecu transplant).
Q: Is the cold air intake in my 1991 Honda Civic too short?
I purchaced a Cold air intake for my stock 1991 honda Civic Hatchback. The piping is in pieces so that pipes may be added or taken off inorder to have the right fit. Rather than adding more piping I took most of it off. So my intake system only contains about 6 inches of actual pipe and the filter. The car seems to run fine. Is the short pipe too short?
A: It's not too short, you're just using it as a short ram intake. By doing that, you'll lose some low rpm and mid range power. You're certainly not going to do any harm if that's what you're worried about, there are many companies that design their intakes exactly how you're using it now.
Q: What is normal gas mileage on a 1991 honda civic si?
i have a 1991 honda civic si how many gal of fuel will i fill up the tank and how much millage will i get of on it???
A: Approx. 30 miles mpg I have 92 Civic 1.5 get 32-36 depending on how I drive.
Q: 1991 Honda Civic Automatic Seatbelts not working?
I have a 1991 Honda Civic with automatic seatbelts. They both stopped working this week in the "closed" position. I cannot find a fuse labeled for them. Can anyone help me fix this?
A: wow i haven't seen those in a long time.
Anyways
Your seatbelt fuse should be located on the (+) side of the battery. You should check your owner's manual to be sure.
If it is the not fuse, then you are probably looking at a bad door switch thats causing the problem
Btw
You should get rid of them, the only reason they they were stopped from making in production was, because they found out they are death traps during accidents. Cases had shown that during accidents, the seat belts won't open.
Be safe and get manual seat belts

Q: Whats a low insurance rate for 18 year old for a 1991 honda civic?
I shopped around for low insurance and the lowest i got was about $300 per month for 1991 4 door honda civic. is there any other lower insurance for this car ? its kind of old but i heard that hondas are heavy on insurance. if it is, what car is low on insurance for a first timer car and insurance. im 18 years old, i got my g2 in april, i took driving school, and i never had auto insurance.
can someone help me out
A: It's not the car that has the high insurance, it's YOU. As long as you are under 25 yrs old, you're gonna pay through the nose for car insurance, no matter what you drive. (it's been that way since the 60's...more cars with teenagers, having more accidents...)
If you can get away with less than $5000. a yr you're doing good. You can lower it by being on your folks insurance (if they let you...) They don't care much about driving school anymore. (or good grades, all that stuff went by the wayside a few yrs ago..)
Just be careful, stay out of trouble and drive like you WANT to stay alive and by the time you're 25, your insurance WILL go down.

Thank you in advance for help =)
A: You paid around $200 for this and your list says:
1) the car smells like gas constantly because the guy who had it before me took out the panels and welded the pipe to the inside of the car
2)the guy also lowered the car and it is 2 low i need it raised an inch or 2
3)i wanted dual exhaust put on the car but i wanted to have it centered in the back for the body kit i have for it
4)i think my headlights need to be rewired not sure
5)i need the car aligned
and i am also looking for aftermarket parts and other parts to the car i have what i think is a 94 delsol engine in it but i am not worried about engine parts here is a list of stuff i would be interested it
1)other body kits for it (no fenders) front back bumper side skirts and spoilers
2)rims (13's)
3)front headlights and taillights aftermarket ones
4)and interior panels

Jeez! To be honest, I's sell it for it's scrap value and start again. The modifications you suggest need to be done to a standard coupe/sedan with basically good mechanics and bodywork.
What you have is a rolling wreck that somebody has made even worse by messing around with everything without a clear idea what they were doing.
Too much of what you want to do (ride height, lights, gas smell) is putting right what they did wrong, it's just not worth the effort for an old beater like this.
But that's just my opinion....
Q: Where is the heater core for a 1991 honda civic?
Does anyone know where the heater core is located on a 1991 honda civic? And is it hard to replace...thx in advance
The reason that I need a new heater core is because the car does't blow any heat, I've already changed the thermostat, checked hose, etc. heater core is my last option.
A: The heater core is usually under the dash, above the passenger's feet. On a Honda, it is likely covered by a piece of black molded plastic. Remove this plastic, and you should find your heater core. As to the replacement, I have never done it in a Civic, but if Toyotas are any indication, it might be worth the labor charge to take it to the mechanic.
What makes you think you need a new heater core? If it is only leaking slightly, put some Barrs Stop Leak in your radiator. Be sure and run the heater full blast while you are running the engine as instructed. This will stop a small leak, sometimes for a couple of years. How much longer are you going to have the car?
Q: the valve cover gasket on a 1991 Honda Civic?
How do you keep the valve cover gasket on a 1991 Honda Civic or any other civic for that matter sealed in placed to prevent the leakage that is common place for all 4 cylinder engines. remember the valve cover only has four bolts to keep them in place.
A: you fit it in the groove with a little sealer...
there isnt alot of pressure there so the 4 bolts work fine.
Q: i have a broken hood release on a 1991 honda civic?
i have a broken hood release on a 1991 honda civic. does anyone know how to get the hood open?
A: what's broke, the cable? if so, disconnect it underneath the dash and pull on it with pliers.
Q: I have a question about a 1991 Honda civic?
I have a 91 honda civic automatic 1.5 liter engine with 124,000 miles.what is the best engine oil for my car.which one will it benafit more.
A: Use 10w-30w full synthetic any major brand is good enough. I have a '89 civic hatch with near 300,000 miles and been using full synthetic ever since it hit 100k. The car still passes every smog test with flying color and use it for commute everyday and gets @35mpg. With the synthetic oil, you can hold up on changing it for up to 7500 miles interval or 5k.
Q: How much would a 1.6L engine from a 1991 Honda Civic DX with about 160Kmi on it usually go for?
At this point I'm planning on parting out my old civic but am not sure on the value of the engine.
A: A couple hundred if you're lucky. Most people when swapping go for a more powerful engine. The only people that'll buy it are those who need that engine because they blew the other one up, not because they want to swap.
Your best bet would be to have a scrap yard pick it up and have them give you a little cash.
Q: What would cause a 1991 Honda Civic Hatchback 1.5l to burn oil and have blue smoke?
Specs:
1991 Honda Civic HB
d15b2 engine 1.5 liters
155000 miles
i have owned the car for about 3 months,
the burning oil was very consistent at first, but now it seems to be burning more oil. Very little or no smoke comes out at idle, but once the gas is pessed, blue smoke comes out of the exhaust, especially when the car was just started. Just this week tho the car started to run very slow, seems like no compression. So i havent driven it past 4k rpm to be safe.
I think it might be the valve seals, but a professional answer would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
Do you know what it is?
A: Yikes!!! You are looking at some BIG $$$$ to fix that!!
With age (as previously mentioned) the piston rings will wear and expand, and then let oil into the gas mixture, which then tries to burn, and then comes out of exhaust as smoke.
An old adage was if it's white smoke, no worry, but blue smoke means trouble. The blue in the smoke is the burning oil.
And especially if you're not getting compression, your car is almost dead!! Really. Do not drive it anymore until fixed. It is dangerous to do so, because you might damage the car more.
Unfortunately, a ring job is not cheap. might even be cheaper to get another car. Sorry about that.
Call local garages, ask for "ballpark" estimate for ring job on your car. Probably be $1,000 or more, but I'm not sure.
Q: Rear wiper on 1991 Honda Civic DX not working?
I changed the wiper blade on the rear window of my 1991 Honda Civic DX hatchback and now it doesn't work. The front ones work fine. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot and repair this would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
A: You just changed it? Did it work before changing the blade? If it did make sure the wiper is not binding, turn the wiper on go to the rear of the car and see if it is moving or stuck. If there is no noise or movement you need to check the fuse and make sure it is not blown.
Q: On a 1991 Honda Civic, where is the heater blower motor located?
I need to replace the blower motor, but I can't find it's location in the car. I have the schematics, and know what I need to do, but can't find it to replace. I tried following the wires, but it is just impossible.
Does anyone know where it is exactly?
A: Under the glovebox bro.
