Q: Steps to repair the A/C in a 2002 Honda Odyssey?
I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey EX which has worked perfectly until recently. I noticed water was dripping into the cabin mostly on the passenger side and a little on the driver side. I confirmed that it is water and not oil or some other liquid then did some research. I found out that the issue is that the drain vent from my Air Conditioning system is clogged or may have sealed shut during the winter. Once I removed the glove compartment and opened the air filter on the A/C until, water came pouring out confirming my suspicion. The problem I have is that I don't know how to get at the drain pipe to clean or replace it. My thought is there should be a way to do this without going under the car but I am not sure. What I am looking for is a step by step set of instructions on how to remove the bottom part of the passenger side A/C unit and check the drain hose for anything blocking it. Thanks!

A: YOU CAN NOT DOE IT there is a tube under the van that could be blown through to get through from the in side you would have to evacuate the ac system 1.5 hours

Q: Are there any Honda Odyssey (1999-2002) owners who've experienced transmission problems?
I'm thinking of buying a 1999-2002 Honda Odyssey minivan. Unfortunately I've heard some stories about the transmissions on these mininvas being troublesome. Now I don't want the opinions of just a handful of people influence my decision. Hondas are known for their quality so I find it hard to believe that there would be any problems. I see these vans all over the place so they can't be all bad. Any one have any info to share with me?

A: Honda Does have a problem with these tranmission in the second generation odyssey take it from someone who changed a lot of them. there is a recall on these transmission but you have to be with in a certain year range and VIN# range also I believe the mileage plays a factor. I would call a honda dealership describe the problem and give them your VIN code Honda is very good for warranty coverage. I didn't like it as a TECH but it helps the customer.

Q: Can anyone help with a squealing noise on my 2002 Honda Odyssey?
When I drive over 60 mph, there is a loud squealing noise coming from the front passenger side of my Odyssey. The noise is only made when the outside temperature is above 40 degrees. Asked the service technician to look around for any loose rubber or plastic parts, but they couldn't see anything wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks. When I drive over 60 mph, there is a loud squealing noise coming from the front passenger side of my Odyssey. The noise is only made when the outside temperature is above 40 degrees. Asked the service technician to look around for any loose rubber or plastic parts, but they couldn't see anything wrong. Recently had 60k servicing done, so all belts have been checked. Brakes also relatively new. Any suggestions? Thanks.

A: is it possible that your ac is kicking in and what u hear is the belt slipping on the ac? mine will do that if i turn on the ac at high speed. is this a constant non-stop sound or lasts for a few moments. non-stop is scary as it indicates some kind of bearing is bad or possibly i would have belts checked for proper tension. one more thought, could it be brake issue such as a bad caliper causing rubbing?

Q: When turning the rotors for a 2002 Honda Odyssey, are the bearings involved, or can I do it easily myself?
I want to make sure that it can be easily done myself. I've been told that if the bearings are in the rotors, that it would be much more difficult. Thanks. I wasn't going to turn the rotors myself. I was going to bring them into a shop, where they do them for $10/ea.

A: Every rotor I've seen has no bearings, but I've only seen a couple, no Honda's. You'd probably be better off buying new rotors. You need a special tool to turn them.

Q: I just bought a used 2002 Honda Odyssey and the CD player quits playing after the 6th track.?
My dad has a 2001 Honda Odyssey and says his CD player does the same thing. Should I complain to Honda or just replace it? Any ideas how difficult and the price to replace it?

A: Try to play another CD. If it doesn't work go to your dealer but they'll most likly tell you that it's not under the warranty so you'll have replace it on your which will be some where betweem $150. to $500. Good Luck!

Q: How do I clear the "code" off of my 2002 Honda Odyssey factory radio?

Q: How do I remove the factory CD player from a 2002 Honda Odyssey?
I want to connect the CD player with a iPod using a kit i purchased from www.integrationsolutions.net....hence the question

A: On some cars that is the most difficult item to remove because it seems like some car companies put the radio in first and build the whole car around it

Q: I have a problem with a 2002 honda odyssey the car just don't want to start.can someone help me?

A: Check the battery 1st: remove the cables, if you have any steel wool, or sand paper; clean the inside of the lug-ends, then the batery terminal posts; re-attach the cables & attaempt to start it? 2nd: check the battery to starter cable, if it runs into an solenoid box or ?, open that & check for calcium deposits/corrosion; if it runs directly to the starter, check the connector end, at the starter; to see if the nut is tight & secured properly, check for dirt build up & too much dirty gease( which'll cause the connector to lose contact w/ the starter. 3rd: ? Beats me, i'm a Chevy man!

Q: How do I reset the 'maintenance required' warning light on my Honda Odyssey 2002 dashboard?
The light is on although I still have more than 5000 mile for the next oil change.

A: hold the trip button in and then keep it held and insert the key to on position (dont start it) then the light should blink and then release the trip button and turn off key. Then restart the car and see if that works. I'm pretty sure that is the reset for the cr-v and odyssey.

Q: I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey?
I have a 2002 Odyssey and just had the belts changed and the water pump changed all the work that needed to be done at 100,000 miles. It just started to chug at about 26 to 30 miles per hour. What might be the reason? This doesn't happen when I am accelerating.

A: Sounds like the fuel line is becoming clogged. Get some fuel cleaner from a gas station or something. if its not the like it might be either the filter or the pump.

Q: 2002 Honda Odyssey - Problem with Rear Wireless Audio System?
We have the 2002 Honda Odyssey minvan with DVD and Wireless Rear Sound System. Problem is we regularly experience a 'beeping' sound when listening on the headphones on the rear wireless system. If we put the movie on full speakers, no problems, only on wireless. Sometimes occurs soon after driving, other times only after longer drive. What is solution

A: check the batteries in the headphones...thats the only reason i can think of a beeping sound...other than that read the owners manuel and see if that helps i cant say that i have ever herd of one beeping

Q: 2002 Honda Odyssey door getting stuck?
Recently the passenger side door on my 2002 Honda Odyssey has been getting stuck. How can I fix this? . Thanks

A: sliding door or front door? if its the sliding door the common solution is to wipe down the black weatherstrips that surround the door opening with a white lithium grease. That is a commonly avaialbe light lubricant that is available for about $3 at any parts store. Be sure to wipe down the weatherstrips on both the car body and on the back of the door frame. the problem with the weatherstips is that they get sticky when they get pollen and dust on them from the air. you need to clean them periodically to prevent them from sticking. typically that will fix the problem of the door getting stuck. if you're door just isn't opening at all then look at cleaning the electrical contacts at the front of the door. those contacts look like two black rectangles with brass nails in them. one is on the door and the other on the door frame. use isoprophyl alcohol on a q-tip to wipe them down. hope that helps

Q: 2002 Honda Odyssey. Maintenance at the Honda Dealership??
My maintenance required light has been coming on in my 2002 Honda Odyssey. They recommend taking it to the Honda dealership to get maintenance. I called them though and they charge like 200 just for changing the oil and doing basic stuff. Can't I just take it to Walmart automotive or something like that . Do they do the same checkups on your car as the Honda place?

A: yeah the best place is a shop that works exclusively on hondas and acuras but are not the dealer...they charge less and will do a good job on maintaining your vehicle.... or you could try another shops but ask if they work on imports.

Q: How to turn off the maintenance light (not the check engine light) on a 2002 Honda Odyssey EX with 76,388 mile

A: Put the key in the ignition in the Off position. Push and hold in the odometer reset button. Turn they key to the II position, while still holding the button. After about 10-15 seconds the light should go off.
