Q: How much for New 2008 Honda Odyssey EXL?
I am gonna buy 2008 Honda Odyssey EXL w/o DVD and NAVI system. Dearlers around me are offering around 27k. I am thinking just 26,000. Do I need to stick to this price?
A: That's a great price, but I'd suggest you try to push them for less... vans, trucks and SUV's aren't selling like they used to, so I'm sure they have a ton in stock. We bought our '07 Odyssey EX-L last June for $28,300, but I made our salesguy throw in $700 worth of accessories (auto dimming mirror (now standard on '08), mats, etc.). Try offering $26k, but if they say no and want a higher price, say you want them to throw in a couple accessories (3rd row window shade, cargo net, etc.) Either way, you're getting a killer deal, but the answer's no until you ask! Good luck!
Q: Anyone have any pictures of the 2008 Honda Odyssey Olive interior?
Just curious what the Olive color looks like. My Honda dealer does not have any with this color interior and the the Honda web site does not show what it looks like. Thanks
The Honda website only shows a portion of the olive, I'm looking for the whole interior of someones car. Thanks
A: http://automobiles.honda.com/odyssey/interior-colors.aspx
the above link will take you to the page with the interior colors for the Odyssey on the Honda web site
hope that helps
Q: 2008 Chrysler Town and Country or 2008 Honda Odyssey?
I personally think the chrysler looks really good and has tons of high tech. stuff. And the 2nd row seats that can turn around and there is a table in the middle is totally unique and cool.
The honda odyssey is pretty similar to other vans. Theres nothing really special.
But which do you prefer?
Since the honda are more reliable, how come they can't do the same thing chrysler did? So their cars can be high tech, and reliable, which will make it like the best car?
A: your right, the t&c has better features and more high tech equipment, but as for reliability, honda (and asian/foreign cars in general) are more reliable than american cars which is what the t&c is, and you will probably have less problems. So its up to you on what you want
Q: I am trying to decide between a 2008 Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna? What did/ would you buy and why?
My primary requirements are for my wife to shuttle my child (and carpoolers) to school and back. We do expect some cargo moving (that I rent a U-Haul for right now) but that is less than 0.5% of the usage so cant really add that to the equation.
I drive an 1999 Acura which runs great so I dont expect that to change any time soon.
A: Well, Toyota and Honda just happen to be the two most reliable makes in the automotive industry. But I'm on my second Honda right now, and I intend to never get a different make again for the rest of my life. Imho there simply isn't a better car overall in the world. They're moderately more reliable than Toyota, they're faster, they look better, ...; they're simply superior in every way.
Q: How to set up the Homelink system for the 2008 Honda Odyssey?
A: 1. For first time training, press and hold the two outer HomeLink buttons, releasing only when the HomeLink indicator light begins to flash after 20 seconds. (Do not perform this step when training the additional HomeLink buttons.)
2. Position the hand-held transmitter 1-3 inches away from the HomeLink surface (located on your module), keeping the HomeLink indicator light in view.
3. Using both hands, simultaneously press and hold both the desired HomeLink button and hand held transmitter button. DO NOT release until the HomeLink indicator light flashes slowly and then rapidly. When the indicator light flashes rapidly, both buttons may be released. (The rapid flashing indicates successful training.)
Note: Some garage door openers may require you to replace step 3 with the “cycling” procedure noted in the “View Canadian Instructions” section.
4. Press and hold the trained HomeLink button and observe the indicator light.
If the indicator light is solid/continuous, training is complete and your device should activate when the HomeLink button is pressed and released.
If the indicator light blinks rapidly for 2 seconds and then turns a solid/continuous light, proceed with the following training instructions for a rolling code device. A second person may make the following steps quicker and easier. Please use a ladder or other device. Do not stand on your vehicle to perform the next steps.
5. At the garage door opener receiver (motorhead unit) in the garage, locate the “learn” or “smart” button (usually near where the hanging antenna wire is attached to the unit). If there is difficulty locating the training button, reference the garage door opener’s manual or contact us.
6. Press and release the “learn” or “smart” button (the name and color of the button may vary by manufacturer). NOTE: Once the button is pressed, there are 30 seconds in which to initiate the next step.
7. Return to the vehicle and firmly press and hold the trained HomeLink button for two seconds and release. Repeat the “press/hold/release” sequence up to 3 times to complete the training process.
Q: Just bought 2008 Honda Odyssey..should we get the Extended Care warranty they offer?
The cost is about $1500 for 100k miles/6 years. I've never gotten one before but plan to keep my van a long time. Is this something we should consider?
A: In my opinion, these warrantys are not a good deal. First of all, you have a manufacturer's warranty for free for at least 3 years/36k miles, maybe more depending on the part. So the question becomes, How much will your repairs likely cost you between 36k and 100k miles?
Keep in mind that the warranty does not cover parts that are designed to wear such as brake pads, belts, tires, etc.
Also, keep in mind that you may have a deductible when you have a warranty claim.
I would rather take my chances, because I don't believe that you are likely to have $1500 worth of repairs between 36k and 100k miles.
Q: Can a 2008 Honda Odyssey come in all whell drive?
A: No, Honda never gave an option for AWD in their Odysseys. We have an '07 Odyssey EX-L, and I must say it handles very well for being FWD. I don't know it this applies to you but, if you live in a place where it snows, I can say that the Odyssey handles great in snow, and doesn't get stuck.
Q: 2008 Honda Odyssey rear air control?
I have a 2008 Honda Odyssey and I cant figure out how to control the rear fan speed from the front controls.
A: There are 3 up/down controls right under the small LCD screen that shows the temperature for the driver and passenger/ where it's blowing. There is a button that says "rear" on/off, you can push that in to turn the back fan on and use the center up/down control (it says "rear" on the control) to adjust the intensity. Or you can just push the rear up/down control, up or down to turn it on, but you still have to push the "rear" on/off to turn the fan off. Hope this helps, sorry this is so long.
Q: on the 2008 Honda Odyssey do the windows in the on the second row roll down?
like, the row behind the driver and passenger. do the windows go down?
A: Yes, just like the front.
Q: Honda odyssey 2008 EX. Do the 2nd row seats fold?
Honda odyssey 2008 EX. Do the 2nd row seats fold forward?. I know that trim doesn't have a "stow away" feauture, but can you at least fold it forward?.
basically, bring the back of seat and bottom of seat together, and fold the seat forward, so that it hits the front seat, and opens up space.
A: yes you can... just use the tilt feature. not positive if you have to remove the head rest or not for this but i know they do fold forward, and you can remove them all together as well.
Q: Need Car Dealer Help! We are buying a Honda Odyssey 2008 EX-L RES?
We are trying to buy a 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L with RES. No Trade.
The sticker price is $34,000 and they have come down to 30,000 (that is the 3500 off they have going right now). We really feel that $27,000 plus TTL would be more fair.
We had to leave yesterday after 3 hours in the dealership to pick up my daughter from the baby sitter. They called yesterday evening to let us know we qualified for financing but we did not have time to talk about price.
Do I call them back this morning or do I wait for them to call me?
How do I get the price lower?
Thank you for serious answers!!
A: A good place to do research is edmonds.com that site tells you what the dealers cost was for the vehicle and what most of them are selling for it will also tell you what ALL the incentives from the manufacturer, most dealerships make it seem like they gave you $3500 off the price when they were already yours to begin with from the manufacturer. good luck!
P.S. they will call you.
Q: 2008 honda odyssey touring with pax and without?
y do they charge more for the pax tires on the touring models now, they came standard with tourings for 2007
A: well... pax charge for replacement is $1k+ and people were not informed of this, as previous people stated the life is very short for these tires, in the 08 model all honda's come with the tpms (tire pressure monitoring system). i think honda realised that their customers were not happy with this 1k + tire change option and decided to offer both to accomidate all.
Q: Minivans...choosing between 2008 Honda Odyssey and Chrysler Town and Country? Any experiences or advice?
What should I expect to pay? I want one with all the family options...DVD system, sliding doors etc.
A: We have a Town and Country that we bought brand new in 2005. We paid about 38,000 for it. It's been great except sometimes the sun roof leaks and the doors may get stuck. But for the most part it's been great. Hope this helps.
Q: where can I find any info on the 2008 Honda Odyssey?
A: Here's info straight from the Honda Cars website:
Q: 2008 Chrysler Town & Country or 2008 Honda Odyssey EX-L with DVD?
What's your thoughts of the two choices of mini-van? Which is better and why?
Thanks
A: Town and country is a good van. Mopar started the Mini-van revolution with the Caravan, which is the basis for the much improved Town and Country.
Anything Honda builds is going to be very good. The honda will ride well, be more reliable, and will get better gas milage. The Honda will also keep it's resale value a lot better, which means better value down the road.
Go for the Honda. T&C is good, but the Honda is a better vehicle, Hands down.
